The fortress in the heart of Burkhara in Uzbekistan has 2000 years. It was the abode of the emirs who ruled this great city on the Silk Road. Within its walls of mud brick is beautiful mosques, ancient remains and ceremonial rooms of the harem.
Burkhara reveals itself slowly, monumental, yes, but mostly mild. Twice capital, the latter of which the emirate of Burkhara, in the century. XVI, retains much of the architecture of this era, which makes it one of the most fascinating historical sites throughout Central Asia, protected by UNESCO.
Stylish oasis of the Silk Road, was also an important cultural and religious center. Today, the worst that can happen is to get tired of monuments, if we try to visit about a hundred and forty listed buildings in the city.
