With 18 islands and atolls, the French Polynesia in the Pacific has five archipelagos. The trip includes the Society, more specifically the islands of Tahiti, Bora Bora , Moorea, Taha'a and Ra'iatea.
It's in Tahiti which lies to the government capital, Papeete, which hosts the Gardens Botanical Gauguin Museum and Harrison Smith, in honor of the French painter who took refuge in this corner of the globe and here eventually die.
Bora Bora is a romantic destination, allowing, in addition to sunbathing and sea, helicopter rides, canoeing and boating, diving, snorkelling and sailing. Less crowded and therefore more peaceful, Moorea is the final scale.
