The relaxed crystal Kauai (the Garden Island) is the least commercially developed of the Hawaiian Islands. Waterfalls, beautiful walks and more than 60 beaches dot the landscape. Some beaches offer great snorkeling, others have pools of sea, ideal for children, and others are perfect for all sorts of water sports. Activities on land include hiking in the Kalalau Trail on the edge of Na Pali, spend a day at Waimea Canyon and learn about life in a sugarcane plantation in the Grove Farm Homestead Museum.
Spouting Horn
The Spouting Horn is a hole (simple), located on a cliff in Poipu Beach, one of the most beautiful island. When the wave hits the rock, the pressure releases a jet of water upwards like a geizer but direct water from the sea.
Wailua River / Falls Wailua (Wailua River / Wailua Falls)
The Wailua River is one of the few navigable rivers in Hawaii , and certainly the most popular Kauai. Many people do trips in canoes, kayaks and even larger boats up the river to one of the waterfalls that feed the same name, Wailua. The ride is beautiful and offers a diversity of landscapes to behold.
It is considered by many to be the wettest spot on earth as it has on average 350 days of rain per year and reaches values of 11 000 mm annual rainfall. The island was used for recording the movie Jurassic Park.
