
After two years of refurbishment, the Hotel Palacio de Tepa , built in 1808, finally opened the doors, giving Madrid over a five-star hotel in the neighborhood of Letters.
When erected a palace in the capital of Spain , the Count of Montijo y Tepa took the place existed before the Fonda de San Sebastian, an important address of Madrid Tertuliana seventeenth century. Nobles continued to promote the arts and letters and stated that the lot of poets and playwrights who have stayed in the palace, it includes a still young Prosper Merimee, author of the story that Bizet Carmen later become known in the opera.
In late 2010, after two years of work, the palace came to welcome guests, but with another function, five-star hotel. The new NH Palacio de Tepa is located in the Arts District, where is also the "Golden Triangle of Art" formed by the museums Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza and Reina Sofia.
If the exterior has remained faithful to the original, the interior common areas, in 66 rooms and 18 suites and the restaurant Pure State, with the signing of award-winning chef Paco Roncero, has been redesigned with contemporary features and minimalist decor.
