The beach Hulopoe in Hawaii has everything from the golden sands and idyllic until a sea abundant marine life. Most mornings, you can walk along the golden sands of rich delicious Hulopoe Beach in Lanai and have the beach all to yourself. You can see a fisherman is perched on the rocks of lava cable or spot a diver in the pools among the rocks. Someone from the small campsite hidden in nearby woods may even fall. And of course, the local group of spinner dolphins is probably swimming around, playing in the waves and spin before returning to sea.
Lanai is often nicknamed the "Private Island" because it is almost entirely owned by David H. Murdock, the former president of Dole, a producer of fruits and vegetables. After leaving the company to grow pineapples here in 1992, Murdock redirected the island for tourism.
Although the image of the island as a luxury resort is largely deserved, the beach Hulopoe is an exception. Like all the Hawaiian beaches, is always open to the public, with regular ferries from Maui to dock a few hundred meters, access is easy.
The beach itself is a gem, a smooth curve of sand fringed by thick trees and low algarroba demarcated to the east by Manele Cone Brown-red, an extinct volcanic relic. The slope of the sand in the water makes it ideal for swimming, while the reef off the coast ensures that the waves rarely reaches threatening levels.
For the average Hawaiian conditions for surfing are weak, which makes this a great place to learn in safety, or just to play with a bodyboard. You can rent beach equipment in a small kiosk near the west end zone and park away from the center has public showers.
The entire bay is part of a marine reserve - hence the dolphins - and as such the conditions for snorkeling are superb, especially at the beginning of the day. In winter, when whales are sighted bossa often at sea, divers can also listen to your tunes underwater. In the extreme west of the beach, there was once an ancient Hawaiian fishing village inhabited for nearly 500 years, the dunes are still visible the ruins of stone houses, accompanied by explanatory plaques.
