Allagash

This waterway of 150 km in the northeastern U.S. , may be comparatively short, but it's exciting to explore. With its rapid, turbid water and deceptively placid appearance, the Allagash commands respect at every turn.

Access to the Allagash River is limited to only a few locations along its length. Due to its remote location, for all lovers of fishing one day trip is complicated. Most anglers fishing in the river makes the Allagash an experience of several days.

The water stored in Big Eagle and Churchill Lakes provides long streams of water that make navigable from May to September.

It is the only river in Maine considered a national treasure. The Allagash flows through the lakes to its confluence with the St. John, offering one of the most popular canoe races in the United States. The State intends to increase access and thus the boat traffic by installing a boat ramp on Bridge St. John
