Taj Mahal , one of the seven wonders of the world, just about everyone has seen him in numerous photographs, but what few know is that the story is behind this unique monument in India. The Taj Mahal , is no more than an ode to love and represents all the eloquence that this feeling can be. For centuries, the Taj Mahal has inspired poets, painters and musicians who tried to capture his magic in words, colors and music. Travelers crossed whole continents to see this magnificent beauty, with few that were left indifferent.
Like all stories, it also begins the same way ... There once was a prince named Kurram who fell in love with a princess to 15 years of age. The story goes that accidentally crossed but their destinies were united forever. After waiting for five years, during which they could not see a single time, the marriage ceremony took place in the year 1612, in which the emperor of the renamed Mumtaz Mahal or "Palace of the elected." The prince was crowned in 1628 with the name of Shah Jahan, "The King of the world" and ruled in peace.
As fate would have it was not Queen Mumtaz long. By giving birth to 14th child of Shah Jahan, died at age 39 in 1631. The Emperor was greatly disgusted and heartbroken, and seconds later chronicles, the whole court cried the queen's death for 2 years. During this period, there was no music, parties or celebrations of any kind in the entire kingdom.
Shah Jahan ordered that a monument be built without equal, so that the world could never forget. No one knows for sure who was the architect, but met in Agra the greatest riches of the world. The fine white marble from local quarries, Jade and Crystal from China , Turquoise from Tibet, lapis lazuli from Afghanistan , Yemen's Agate, Ceylon Sapphires, Amethyst from Persia, Saudi Arabia Reef, Himalayan Quartz, Amber Indian Ocean.

This leads to the Taj Mahal. Its name is a short variation of Mumtaz Mahal .. the name of the woman whose memory preserves. The name "Taj" is of Persian origin, which means Crown. "Mahal" is Arabic and means place. Properly framed in a symmetrical garden, typically Muslim, divided into equal squares crossed by a canal lined with cypresses that reflects your image more impressive. Inside the mausoleum is also impressive and breathtaking. In the twilight, the burial chamber is surrounded by fine marble walls inlaid with precious stones that form a curtain of thousands of colors. The sound of the interior, wide and high is sad and mysterious, like an echo that sounds and resounds without ever stopping.
About the building comes a magnificent dome, which is the crown of the Taj Mahal. This is surrounded by four smaller domes, and the ends of the platform stand four towers that were built at a slight angle, so that in case of collapse, never falls on the main building.
The arabesque designs are Muslims outside of semi-precious stones inlaid in white marble, according to a technique used by Italian craftsmen Hindus. These scales were made with such precision that the joints are distinguished only through a magnifying glass. A flower is only seven inches square, can have up to 60 different scales. The tracery of the windows was working from blocks of solid marble.
It is said that Emperor Shah Jahan wanted to also build your own mausoleum. This would be across the river. Much more impressive, much more expensive, all black marble, which was later united with the Taj Mahal through a golden bridge. This project was never carried out. After losing power, the emperor was imprisoned in his palace, and from their lodgings, beheld his great work to death. The Taj Mahal was, finally, the eternal refuge of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. Later, the emperor was buried beside his wife, this being the only break in the perfect symmetry of the whole complex of the Taj Mahal.
After almost four centuries, millions of visitors continue to retain its romantic aura ... the Taj Mahal, will be forever a lonely tear over time.
